Disastrous Sex Mistakes Men Make

By: Robert D. Thomson

If you're looking for some counsel on how to make your bedroom activities go with a bang, adopt our easy tips for sexual success!

First Sex Mistake

Pushing your partner to do something she isn't comfortable with. So, if you've been thinking about adopting the outrageous sex positions adopted by some porn stars, think again! Start from a more realistic place: think what she wants. Being sexually relaxed means two things for a woman: first of all, she has to be physically relaxed. That might mean she isn't going to feel too cheerful if you ask her to put her legs behind her ears while you make love. It might also mean that you have to avoid any sex position that gives you the deepest penetration, since your penis might bang her cervix and give her some acute discomfort. Second, she has to feel emotionally relaxed. So if you treat her like one of those porn stars might, she isn't going to be too delighted either, and you're not likely to be invited back to have sex again any time soon. This includes: wanting to ejaculate over any part of her body without her complete agreement, using dirty talk that is disrespectful to her, wanting to slap her buttocks if she isn't into that sort of sex play, and generally treating her like a sex object rather than your cherished lover.

Second Sex Mistake

Being too much of a gentleman. There's an old saying: "A gentleman takes his weight on his arms." If you think this and other such traditions are the best way to behave during sex in the man on top position, did you ever think to ask your partner what she wishes? A lot of women like to feel the weight of their man on top of them during sex. They explain this by saying it makes them feel protected, or they say they just like to feel the energy and strength of their man in this sex position.

Yes, if you're a lot heavier than she is, you might squash her, so use some judgement, but generally, in the man on top sex position, let her feel your heaviness! And in all sex positions, remember to ask her what she likes!

Third Sex Mistake

If she's in the woman on top position, don't just lie there like a log when she's enjoying herself - match her rhythm and pace, have fun, be adventurous and enjoy each other's bodies. If she's riding you, remember that you can still move quite a lot during sex in this position. You can thrust your hips to match her movements, you can raise your knees to vary the direction at which your penis penetrates her vagina, and you can caress her breasts and clitoris if she's facing you while you have sex.

Remember that you don't like her lying motionless under you during missionary position sex, so in this position, return the favour and thrust yourself!

Fourth Sex Mistake

Being too aggressive during sex. While some women like rough sex, remember that for a woman, sex tends to be something romantic and she'd like you to enjoy it that way too! That means not pounding away in her vagina without having her implicit agreement, not being selfish (e.g. having an orgasm yourself but not bothering to help her to orgasm herself), and not whizzing her around rudely during sex.

If you want to show how how much of a man you are by being a bit dominant, do it with firmness and kindness, rather than by flinging her around the bed like a rag doll. Needless to say, this guidance applies in any and all sex positions!

Fifth Sex Mistake

Sticking to the same old sex positions every time you make love

While you don't have to try all the challenging positions you can find on the internet, a bit of variation really adds seasoning to your sex life. Even if you're really fond of the man on top sex position, for example, sex in the rear entry or side by side positions will let you see sex very differently, you may well get much more aroused, and you will surely get some new and different sexual sensations!
