Eat as Much (Fruits and Vegetables) as You Want!

By: Robert D. Thomson

Eat as much as you want!
Let me be more precise: eat as many fruits and vegetables as you want.
You cannot eat too many fruits and vegetables. You cannot eat too many fruits and vegetables. You cannot eat too many fruits and vegetables.
If you've heard you need to limit your intake of fruits and vegetables, forget it. YOU CANNOT EAT TOO MANY FRUITS AND VEGETABLES.
I challenge anyone to overeat fruits and vegetables. It's just not possible. Here's the key: they're made mostly of water (no calories) and fibers (no calories). Even if you ate fruits and vegetables all day, you wouldn't even come close to your normal energy intake. That's without saying that you'll feel full long before.
On any diet, feel free to eat as many fruits and vegetables as you want. If you're hungry but don't want to eat too many calories, fruits and vegetables are the way to go. Plus, while you're eating them, you're not eating another calorie-richer food.
And their health benefits are many. Among other, they prevent cardiovascular disease and cancer, the two leading causes of death in the U.S.
As a final note, you cannot eat too many fruits and vegetables.
ACTION STEP 17
Eat a fruit or a vegetable. Right now. Then grab a bowl, put in on the kitchen's table, and fill it with fruits and vegetables. Aim for 5 daily.
ACTION STEP 17 REVISITED
Aim for 10 fruits and vegetables daily. This will actually keep you full and make you eat less of other foods, thus lowering your overall calorie intake. Carry them in your schoolbag, your briefcase, and/or your jacket. Put a bowl on the office's desk. Frozen fruits and vegetables count and will help you reach that goal.
