Fashion Jeans Go Upmarket

Jeans. Once upon a time they were the staple garment of any self respecting tradesman, odd job man or parents out with the kids at the weekend. Not anymore. Since the Levi’s ads on TV in the 80’s attempting to raise the profile of our humble jeans, there has been an almost universal acceptance of the once humble jeans as a true fashion item. Today, fashion jeans have moved into the realms of high fashion with every top fashion designer worth a mention, including multiple variations in their collections.
There are an incredible array of shapes and styles today, with a cut or a style to suit everyone.
Take for example the skinny jean. If if you’re lucky enough to have the figure to wear these, then expect to take some criticism from the more generously proportioned among us who can’t or more to the point, shouldn’t. I don’t find these jeans particularly attractive or comfortable as they hug the legs from hip to ankle. Those who wear these jeans, leave nothing to the imagination with literally every tuck, fold and crevice on public display.
If you‘re lucky enough to have the figure to carry this off, consider yourself in the minority.
The most comfortable jeans I own, by a long stretch are straight leg jeand. They’re the same width from ankle to thigh and are very flattering to a huge range of shapes and sizes. Just be careful not to wear these too tight and you’ll be turning heads aplenty.
There are any number of other styles of fashion jeansFortunately, fashion jeans come in a huge range of other styles as well, such as bootcut, cropped, flare, wide leg, baggy, the list goes on. I love the fact that jeans have now been elevated in stature to the point where going out to a nightclub in a pair of fashion jeans is perfectly acceptable. I should think so too, when you consider just how much some of the top brands cost.
The key to wearing some of the more edgy designs, is knowing your body shape.
