Believe me, it’s a lot easier to play loud and learn to play quiet than it is to play quiet and learn to play loud.

Play it slow. Make sure you can fret each chord perfectly and that each note rings clearly with no buzzing. If you learn to play something without being able to finger the chords properly it’s going to take longer to learn in the long run.
