How can you create a happy marriage that lasts?

By: fongsuimy

Are the majority of couples married a long time unhappy with their relationship? That question has been bothering me for quite some time now. As a consultant of Feng Shui, I encounter several couples with less than perfect marriages. While wanting to improve their relationship with their spouse, my clients often ask if there is a secret cure or recommendation that I could give them.

Asking around, I polled a few of my married friends and got their opinion on the matter. I choose this select group because they are older - over fifty years old - and have been married for many years. Their answer was quite shocking - to me. Based on their personal experience and those of their friends, they think that 90% of married couples are, in one way or another, unhappy with their relationships.

Granted that they do not live happily ever after, as in the fairy tales, this is still quite sad – if it is indeed true.

The question now to be asked is if there is a cure. It may be possible.

Horoscopes are frequently used in ancient societies, such as China, where arranged marriages still take place. The natal charts of the couple in question are checked for compatibility, before they are permitted to marry each other.

Will this provide the desired results? It increases your odds, but it doesn't always work. If combination of some conditions is done a happy and lasting marriage is possible as they observed with long period.

While this insight is for all, it is most important for those with a background of failed marriages or relationships, to remember this.

The following conditions apply.

In the old days, the husband must always be older than the wife. It has almost been a tradition. It is unbreakable and should not be tried to be broken. the key can be, being younger than your wife. To the ancient Chinese, the wife is considered older even if she is a day older than the husband. But for more positive results, a bigger age difference is better.

The other option for a more successful relationship is for the husband to be much older than the wife. There must be at least 8 years between them before the ancient Chinese would consider it to be much older. In practice, 10 or 15 years older is perfectly acceptable or desired.

It would also increase the chances if there is a big disparity in the social and economic standard between the husband and the wife. For example the husband is a highly educated CEO of a large corporation while the wife is a much lesser educated person from a poor family. Can it be the other way around? It is unlikely in the old days because the husband is always the breadwinner. However in current modern times, where a lot of women earn more than than their husbands, why not?

The earlier days the condition applies to woman's only If she cannot be a successful first wife, it does not mean that she cannot be successful being the second or third one. In other words, you can be successful by becoming the other woman! Being "the other man" might not, however, be such a great idea!

What to do if all the above do not work?

The final option is to have a spouse that is of a different race or from a different culture. For example, an Indian and a Chinese or between two Chinese brought up in different places. Having one raised in China and one raised in the United States would be a good example.

We have been the beneficiaries of our forefathers' wisdom. If you are having problems forming lasting relationships, you should try it out. There is nothing to lose!
