Party Theme Cake Decorations

By: Raymond Plona

If you are thinking of party theme cake decorations for your child’s up and coming birthday bash, you are very attentive indeed to what a child wants. After all, it takes some effort for you to get them ready and then, incorporate as best you can, onto the cake. Your child will know you as the mom or dad who listens. Lest you think this spoils the child, let me assure you this is not so if your child is involved in the planning stage. Your child should be involved anyway, because this is his or her birthday party of the year!
If you think that you will end up with a lot of task to complete, then you are mistaken. All you need is careful planning and a little creativity. Here are some of things you may need to do:
1. What will the theme be?
2. How many people will be at the party will determine the size of the cake.
3. Are you going to buy the cake or bake it yourself?
4. You can decide whether you are going to buy the décor for the cake that fits the theme or use the things you can find at home.
5. Choose some birthday party candles to light up this event.
You might think that the theme for a birthday is difficult to think of. It’s simple; just ask your little angle what they want. They can come up with brilliant ideas that are way beyond your wildest imagination. Ask them for a few ideas, you can figure out which one may actually work.
Next, you will want to estimate on the number of guests that your child or you are inviting so that you can roughly determine the size of your cake. If you think this sounds unrelated to party theme cake decorations, I think it will be handy because you can tell how much decoration you can use. Surely you don’t want to be so simple that the cake is sparse, or so complicated that it looks like a mess. Of course, a bigger cake is bound to be more flexible for you to decorate on, and since you are both so keen on a theme, you are bound to invite quite a number of guests to make it all worthwhile.
Are you good in baking? If so, you may want to make your own. The good thing about this is that it gives you more flexibility. But, if you are not much of a baker, this flexibility may instead be a challenge to you. Whether you are baking your own or getting it from the baker’s, browse through some of the potential cake designs. Perhaps you can get one to complement the theme selected. The cake should at least be suitable for the theme.
The best part of all is the decoration. Far from troublesome, decorating the cake with the party’s theme must be the most flexible part in this whole business. You can use your own materials or simply buy them. They can be edible or otherwise.
Get creative with cookies molded into various shapes to bring the themes come to life on your cake. You will also discover along with a little colored cream, these little miracles will work wonders for you. You can also use cotton candies if you like so let you imagination run free. Little toys can also do the trick. You may already have these at home which is just like what the kids always say, ‘Awesome!’
You will be spoilt for choices when it comes to candles. True, there are a variety of sorts in the market today. Candle can be plain shaped ones with different colors or animated ones that come in all sorts of shapes. You can also find candles that play the birthday tunes when they are lit up. Candles are important too especially for children’s birthday cakes because (as far as the kids are concerned) they tell everyone of the person’s age!
