You can view Anaglyph 3D pictures only with 3D glasses.

Films released as 3D in theaters will also provide a 3D experience on DVD and Blu-Ray with 3D glasses. The first Blu-ray 3D disk will be the Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert released by Disney studios in August 2008. In July of 2008, the Disney Channel showed this using red-cyan paper 3D glasses.
In the blu-ray release, similar 3D glasses will more than likely be used. The greater clarity of blu-ray, and the learning curve at Disney, has greatly improved red-cyan anaglyph 3D Glasses, especially in relation to close overlay of the 3D images, such as they have followed in their animation projects. In comparison with the old-fashioned polarized or anaglyph technique, most Disney theatrical 3D images display much less mal-registration.

What makes 3D Anaglyph Glasses function?

Anaglyphs are seen as a different picture by each eye when viewed through properly colored 3D glasses. In a red-blue anaglyph 3D Glasses, for instance, the eye covered by the red filter sees the red parts of the image as "white", and the blue parts as "black" The brain will have its own version of what it looks like.; whereas the total opposite phenomenon is observed by the eye masked by the blue-tinted filter. Pure black or white areas could be perceived the same by every eye Each eye sends an image to the brain, which blends the two together while explaining any discrepancies as being caused by differing distances. This creates a normal stereograph image without requiring the viewer to cross his or her eyes.
